Blanton’s Original

The Blanton family made Bourbon before the Civil War, but their breakthrough came in 1984 when they introduced the first single barrel bourbon.

During that period Colonel Blanton created his very special and limited supply of bourbon – his private reserve – handpicked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Although Colonel Blanton died in the spring of 1959, his legacy lives. Introduced in 1984, Blanton’s namesake bourbon was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. The Single Barrel Bourbon is the first of its kind. —

Today, Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is still aged in the same section of Warehouse H as Blanton’s Private Reserve was over 50 years ago. In addition, it continues to be bottled from a single barrel that is hand-selected based on its flavor profile. Blanton’s has the most labour intensive bottling line in the bourbon business. The process is all by hand: hand filled, hand sealed (stopper and wax), and hand applied label, hand numbered (each and every bottle).
