Compass Box Hedonism – Editor’s Choice

Aside from the monthly reviews by the Society I plan to review some whisk(e)y personally. The first in the Editor’s Choice series is: Compass Box Hedonism Blended Grain Scotch Whisky.

Our bottlings of Hedonism are made from a combination of eight to 15 casks of grain whisky from distilleries such as Cameron Bridge, one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in Scotland, and Cambus. Most whisky in Hedonism has been aged in first-fill American oak casks. This ageing yields a very special whisky that is full and round with richly textured flavours of vanilla and toffee. –

  • Style: Grain Whisky
  • Alcohol: 43%
  • Volume: 70cl

  • Nose: Fruity, Sponge cake, Nutmeg, Allspice
  • Palate: Creamy, Soft, Smoke, Woody, Black cherry, Rum
  • Finish: Very warm and long, slightly bitter, vanilla, raisin
  • Marks: 90/100

She needs just a drop of water. Sweet and smooth with a little fading bitterness – water opens up the sweetness. Overall? A fantastic Grain Whisky that will remain in the collection for a long time.

I want to unite old friends and share this amazing experience. Whether it be indulging on a few drams of single malt scotch or a unique bourbon I will always find it hard to resist not to diversify and expand our whisk(e)y horizons.
